Refund Policy

Overview

ClipMint operates on a credit-based system. All purchases — whether subscriptions or one-time credit packs — are handled through Paddle, our payment processor. We handle refunds primarily as credit restorations for technical failures. Cash refunds for completed purchases are generally not offered, but exceptions apply as outlined below.

Credit Refunds (Automatic)

The following situations trigger an automatic credit refund — no action required from you:

  • Cloud export failure: if a cloud render fails due to a technical error on our side, we automatically restore 90% of the credits charged for that job.
  • Subtitle generation failure: if the transcription provider returns an error during subtitle generation, the credits for that request are fully refunded. Refunds are not issued for accuracy disputes or unsatisfactory transcription quality.

Non-Refundable Operations

  • Local exports: these are processed entirely on your device. Because we have no control over device or browser limitations that may cause failures, local export credits are not refundable.
  • Completed cloud exports: credits consumed by a successfully rendered and delivered video export are not refundable.
  • Subtitle generation (accuracy disputes): we do not refund credits if you are unsatisfied with transcription accuracy, as results depend on audio quality and language factors outside our control.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through your billing dashboard. Upon cancellation:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period — you keep access and credits until then.
  • 14-day refund window: if you subscribed and are not satisfied, you may request a full cash refund within 14 days of your initial charge. Contact support@clipmint.app with your order details.
  • After the 14-day window, we do not offer prorated cash refunds for unused time in a billing period.

One-Time Credit Packs

14-day refund window: If you purchased a credit pack and have not yet consumed any credits, you may request a full cash refund within 14 days of purchase. Contact us at support@clipmint.app with your order details and we will process the refund promptly.

Purchases older than 14 days or where credits have already been consumed are not eligible for a cash refund. Credit packs never expire — unused credits remain available indefinitely.

Exceptional Circumstances

If you believe you were charged in error, experienced a billing issue not covered above, or have a dispute with a transaction, please contact us at support@clipmint.app within 14 days of the charge. We will review each case individually. Paddle, as our payment processor, also provides a dispute resolution mechanism as part of their Merchant of Record service.
